Aug. 28th 2017

Queridos familiares y amigos,
This week has been a lot of hard work but a fun way to be able to enjoy a little bit of relaxation at the end of the week. We have biked a lot and have been visiting a lot of members who are inactive, it is interesting the reasons why people go inactive. One of them being because you didn´t get a piece of cake at somebody´s birthday party. Anyways that was one of the most intersting things I´ve heard this week. It´s pretty fun to get to know a different area and to be able to meet different people. We got to go fishing this morning and it was a ton of fun, it was so relaxing to be able to just enjoy the lake and take your mind off things and just enjoy God´s creations. We didn´t catch anything but all we used was worms and a bubble I really want to go check out a fishing store and see if they sell jigs or something like that to be able to try a different time. Tomorrow we have to get up way early to go to a zone conference in a town called Chacabuco. It is about 2 hours away in a bus so we have to take a bus in the morning to be able to get to it. So that is something different that will happen this week but other than that it will be just back to work. We had a stake conference yesterday for church we listened to Elder Rasband and he shared his testimony. It was so good it almost made me cry I felt the spirit so strong. It´s been an amazing experience to be a missionary, I´ve learned so many valueble things that have really blessed me. It´s been a privilege to be able to share my testimony with other people in a different country in a different languague. It´s really amazing honestly and it is an experience that I know will bless the lives of other people who take steps to have this experience. This is all I have to share for this week it has been so much fun to be a missionary in Argentina! Love you all! Can´t wait to share more experiences with you next week! Have a great week all of you!

Dear family and friends,
Thanks so much to everyone for all the birthday wishes! It really does help to not feel so far away from everyone when you have everyone wish you a happy birthday! Junín is a way nice city! It is so different from these other areas that I have been too! There is a lot more stores and places to shop. There are two lakes on the outskirts of the city that you can go fish on a p day so that is something that will be fun to do! We have lately been trying to find a lot of less active members to go work with and contact people while searching for these less actives. We don´t have any baptismal dates or anything like that but we hope to go out and find some people who need the gospel! It looks like it might be an uphill challenge to try and get a baptism in this area but I am excited for the challenge and have the faith that we will find those who are being prepared! The bus ride was long about 4-5 hours but we made it eventually. I can´t wait to get working hard in this area and try to find some new investigators. I definetly enjoyed all the birthday wishes from everyone! Thanks everyone for all the birthday wishes they really meant a lot to me! Sorry I couldn´t write too much in the weekly email but that is what is going on right now! Love you all have an awesome week!

Dear family and friends,
This week has been a crazy week! We had a early surprise Thursday night when our district leader Elder Ponte called us with news of what is going to take place with the transfers. We didn't think we were going to find out until today, but we found out Thursday what was all going to happen and it was a big surprise. I was pretty excited when I found out I was going to campo, especially when Elder Cobb told me there are tons of fishing opportunities in Junín! So today for P day I will just be packing and getting ready to head out tomorrow. We had to stay in yesterday from going out to proselyte because there was elections going on for a senate position. So we didn't go out and proselyte all day yesterday, it was kind of nice to have a little bit of a rest from walking and I had a little bit of a head cold so I could gain back my strength. Anyways really the biggest highlight for this week is the transfers that are coming up. Tomorrow I head out to the mission offices with all of my stuff and Elder Cobb will to because he has to pick up his hijo as well. It sounds like it is a little bit of a bus ride to get out to my new area so I will stay in Ramos Mejía for a night because we have a conference this Wednesday with Elder Bragg from the seventy. After that we will head out to Junín me and Elder Jacobson who will be my new comp. It's crazy Elder Jacobson was comps with Elder Cobb in the MTC in Provo! Small world really, it's funny all these people live so close to you but you don't get to know them until you are serving a mission in a dfferent country! It's been a good run in Paso del Rey though to be able to have the opportunity to see 4 people get baptized it is really cool! The Orosco family will always be in my heart! They are such an awesome family! Really I had nothing to do with converting them or nothing like that they were just so prepared to take the steps for baptism! I am glad to be able to be part of the experience with them, and I know I will miss them a lot but at least I can talk with them through email and facebook after the mission so that is a blessing really to have the technology that we have! I learned that just because you are a member doesn't mean you don't have to pray about the Book of Mormon or Joseph Smith being a prophet. You can have that same experience again and again to feel that spirit that your investigators are feeling! It's really true! I know it's true and I can't deny it! It's has brought so much joy in other people's lives and mine as well! Anyways I testify that it is true! Love you all! It's so much fun to talk every monday! Can't wait to write about Junín next week!

Queridos familiares y amigos,
Any week that you have a baptism is always a good week! We had our baptism for the sibling of Brenda this last Saturday! They were confirmed yesterday in sacrament meeting as well! The Orosco family is now totally baptized and they are now members of the church! It has been a fun transfer to teach this family and be able to have the opportunity to be with them when they have made this decision to be baptized. We have one more week left until the transfer ends and who knows what is going to happen. If I move I would honestly be really sad because it´s been so much fun to teach this family the gospel and to be able to share my testimony with them. There has been some challenges in this area but also a lot of new things that I have learned. I feel like I have really grown as a missionary and as a person in this area. It might be possible that it is my last week here, we still have this week left to enjoy it but it will probably go by so fast. We had divisions in Moreno with the other Elders and it was really fun, I think I spoke my best Spanish yet on that day. I was able to talk to people more and understand about 95% of everything I´ve heard. It´s amazing to be able to speak a different language and to share the gospel in this language. It´s a really cool thing! Anyways it´s been a really fun transfer and I know I will miss this area if I end up leaving it next week. At least I have one more week here. This Orosco family that we have been teaching has been so much fun to get to know. The Hermana Orosco shared her testimony yesterday of the church and it was really good. She talked about when me and Elder McDonald first knocked on their door. Her daughter Brenda went to her and told her ¨Mom there is an Elder McDonald here that wants to talk to you.¨ She thought as first ¨What? I didn´t order any McDonalds or nothing like that.¨ Then her daughter was like ¨No mom it´s the mormons that talked to you the other day!¨ It was really funny! She told us how she had a dream once that she found herself in the church here in Paso del Rey and when she entered it her whole family was inside waiting for her. It was an interesting dream she had and an interesting conversion story. Once we started teaching them they were so prepared to take the steps necessary for baptism. It´s been a lot of fun to know them and teach them. Since Fast sunday was yesterday I want to share my testimony in Spanish.

Anyways that is everything that has gone on this week and everything that I have learned recently. Love you all and can´t wait to talk to you again next week! Have a fun and safe week!

Translation:
In this area I have seen many miracles. It is very special to have these opportunities to share this gospel with the people who are prepared. I really know that family is very important in God's plan for us. I read a speech by President Eyring from this past conference that talks about the families and the eternal family of God. The love that God has for each one of us can be found in our families here on earth. The speech speaks of God knowing that we needed our families for our trials in this life. We felt the love of God in our previous lives, and God did not want us to forget this love in our lives on earth. That is why God provided the family so that we can feel the love of Him in our lives every day. When our families are built on the rock of our Savior Jesus Christ, we feel the peace, tranquility and love of God. I really know that when a family has the teachings of Jesus Christ and apply them we find this joy and love of God. Before the mission I knew that family was important but now I can see that the things we do as families do not bring happiness but it is the time we have with our families. There are more important things
then
to fish and hunt. The family is where we can find happiness. I know this is the church of Jesus Christ, and He is our Savior. I know these things are true and I share them in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
